Heavy Armor is a comprehensive defensive ensemble that protects much of the body. It combines substantial torso armor with a helmet and additional defenses for the shoulders, arms, hands, thighs, or legs.
Heavy Armor may take the form of a mail harness, scale harness, lamellar harness, brigandine harness, coat-of-plates harness, mail-and-plate armor, or another extensive combination of flexible and rigid defenses. An individual coat, cuirass, or shirt usually qualifies as Medium Armor; it becomes Heavy Armor when incorporated into a more complete harness.
