Druid

Druids are keepers of the old mysteries, preserving the sacred traditions, histories, and wisdom of ages long past. They wander the world in search of forgotten lore, to witness great events worthy of remembrance, and to preserve the proper order of the mortal and spiritual worlds. They serve as priests, judges, philosophers, and teachers, interpreting the will of the natural and spiritual orders alike.

Druid Features

As a druid, you gain the following class features.

Druidic

The Aspirant's Journey

Druids have a long road ahead of them, and every journey begins as an Aspirant. Upon becoming a Druid, you must devote yourself to one of four philosophical callings: Compassion, Stewardship, Leadership, or Knowledge. Your chosen calling grants you a unique feature and keyword, reflecting the ideals that will guide your journey.

Additionally, the Contemplations granted by your Journey Features possess both passive benefits and Invocations. You can invoke the Invocation benefit of one of your currently selected Contemplations. You can do this once, and regain it’s use upon finishing any Night’s Rest.

You gain the Druid of Compassion keyword.

When you preform the Caregiving downtime activity, characters under your care recover additional grit equal to 1/2 the level of the class that provided this feature.

You gain the Druid of Stewardship keyword.

When undertaking Downtime Activities relating to stewardship, farming, animal husbandry, brewing, or crafting, gain a +4 bonus to your chance of success.

You gain the Druid of Leadership keyword.

Increase the Loyalty bonus granted to your Henchmen by one-half your Druid Level (minimum of 1).

You gain the Druid of Knowledge keyword.

You may perform the Research Downtime Activity while undertaking any other Downtime Activity.

The Worldly Journey

The Worldly Journey teaches the truths of mortal existence. Through meditation and study, Druids contemplate the archetypes that shape our lives and our place within the world. Select one Contemplation from the list below and gain its benefits. You retain the benefits of your selected Worldly Journey Contemplation until you spend a Downtime Event contemplating another.

You gain a +1 Magic Bonus to Attribute Tests where your Class Skill Bonus would apply.

You can use this invocation after failing any Attribute Test. You can reroll the failed test, but must use the new result.

While you are Contemplating the Mystic, the Detect Magic spell becomes a Druid spell for you. If you end the Contemplation of the Mystic, any spell slots that held the Detect Magic spell are immediately emptied.

You can cast the Detect Magic 1st level spell without using a spell slot. When cast this way, the duration is doubled.

When you complete a Night’s rest, recover additional Grit equal to one-half your Druid Level (minimum of 1).

You can cast the Cure Wounds 1st level spell without using a spell slot. You can cast the spell this way, even if it is not on your spell list.

Increase your maximum henchmen by 1.

When a henchmen that can see or hear you fails a Morale check, you can use a Reaction to allow them to reroll the morale check with a +4 bonus.

While this Contemplation is active, any ally who can see an hear you that would not normally be able to participate in an Attribute Test can, but they participate with no Skill Bonus.

When an ally that can see and hear you fails a Attribute Test, you can use a Reaction and allow them to reroll the failed test, but must use the new result.

You can utilize the Help Activity in combat 1 Phase earlier than normal.

You use your Reaction, and allow an ally that can see and hear you to React to something that would normally allow them to React. They can use this feature even if they have acted or Reactied in This Phase, or if they have already used their Reaction.

Spellcasting

Through ancient rites and forgotten mysteries, you have learned to prepare miracles within your mind. Each miracle is an ancient mystery that can be held only temporarily. When invoked, that mystery is expended and slips from memory until it is prepared again through meditation and ritual.

A Druid’s spells are considered clerical spells.

Immediately after completing a Safe Rest, you may perform a personal ritual to prepare your spells. During this ritual, you offer prayers to a higher power, beseeching it to grant you sacred miracles. Each prepared spell occupies one spell slot of its level. Druids may prepare any spell on the Druid spell list, so long as they have the correct level of spell slot.

For example, a 4th-level Druid prepares three 1st-level spells and two 2nd-level spells. Preparing the same spell multiple times allows you to cast it multiple times before resting again. Prepared spells remain in memory until cast.

Spell Preparation can only be done immediately following a Safe Rest.

Some Druid spells have a reverse form. Each time you prepare a reversible spell, you must choose whether you prepare the spell or its reverse. Your chosen form is treated as the prepared spell and occupies one spell slot of the spell’s level. If the spell is a cantrip, the chosen form instead counts as one of your prepared cantrips.

Preparing one form does not also prepare the other. If you want both forms available, you must prepare each separately. If you prepare the same reversible spell multiple times, you make this choice separately for each preparation.

To cast a prepared spell, you must:

Have the spell prepared.
On hand must be free to gesture.
Be able to speak clearly.

Some spells also require material components. If so, the required component must be grasped in your free hand when casting this spell.

After resolving the spell’s effects, the sacred miracle fades from your memory. The spell slot becomes empty and cannot be used again until you prepare spells after completing another Safe Rest.

Cantrips are simple prayers that require little devotion to prepare.

Whenever you prepare your spells after completing a Safe Rest, you also prepare a number of cantrips from the Druid cantrip list. The Spell Progression table shows how many cantrips you may prepare, as well as the number of cantrip casts available in your shared pool.

Each time you cast a prepared cantrip, you expend one available cantrip cast from your shared pool, regardless of which prepared cantrip you cast. Unlike leveled spells, cantrips are not erased from your memory when cast and remain prepared until you prepare your spells again.

You regain all expended cantrip casts whenever you complete a night’s rest.

Keyword Feature

The Inner Journey

The Inner Journey teaches that wisdom is not freely given, but earned through sacrifice, change, and understanding. Select one Contemplation from the list below and gain its benefits. You retain the benefits of your selected Inner Journey Contemplation until you spend a Downtime Event contemplating another.

Increase your base Move Speed by +5 feet.

You can invoke this feature when you perform any movement, and that movement does not provoke Opportunity Actions.

You gain a +1 Magic Bonus to Attack Rolls.

You can use this Invocation after missing with an Attack Roll, you can reroll the attack roll, but must use the new result.

You cannot become lost by non-magical mean while travelling.

After invoking this feature, you can ignore the effects of difficult terrain for 1 minute.

If you are suffering any penalties for Attribute Tests, you can select one penalty source and ignore it. This feature does not work on sources that have a -4 penalty or larger.

You can invoke this feature, and spend 1 minute in quiet contemplation, afterwards you can swap any one of your prepared spells with another on your spell list of the appropriate level. If this feature is interuppted, you do not use your invocation.

While you are Contemplating the Judge, the Command spell becomes a Druid spell for you. If you end the Contemplation of the Judge, any spell slots that held the Judge spell are immediately emptied.

You can cast the Command 1st level spell without using a spell slot. When cast using this feature, creatures have a -2 Magic Penalty to their saving throws.

When you make an Attribute Test, you can grant yourself a penalty between -1 and -5 to the test. If the test is successful, the next attribute test you make gains a bonus equal to the penalty you gave yourself +1.

If you are suffering from a temporary effect causing the Blinded, Dazed, Dazzled, or Deafend, you can invoke this feature and end the condition.

While contemplating Death, you may change which cantrips you have prepared whenever you complete a Night’s Rest, rather than only after a Safe Rest.

When you make a Saving Throw against an effect that would impose a condition but would not kill you outright, you may invoke death and choose to automatically fail. If you do, the condition lasts for only 1 round.

While contemplating harmoy, you can cast the reverse of any spell you have prepared without needing to prepare it separately.

You may use this invocation before making any d20 test. You treat the test as if you rolled a 10.

Establishment

Upon reaching 10th level, your accomplishments have earned you the influence and resources needed to establish a lasting presence in the world.

You may construct, claim, or restore an establishment. The establishments available to you are determined by the keywords you possess. Each keyword grants access to one or more establishments, allowing you to found organizations, strongholds, places of learning or worship, centers of commerce, and other holdings appropriate to your expertise.

If you possess multiple keywords, you may select an establishment from any one of them, provided you meet its prerequisites. Additional establishments may also be available through your ancestry or campaign guides.

An establishment serves as more than a place to reside. It becomes the center of your growing influence, allowing you to attract followers, train retainers, conduct research, manage lands or organizations, craft items, and undertake other long-term endeavors. The benefits and requirements of each establishment are described with the establishment itself.

If you are a multi-class character, you gain this feature only once, when one of your classes first reaches 10th level. When determining whether you meet a feature's prerequisites, consider all keywords you possess, regardless of the level of the class that granted them.

The Eternal Journey

The Eternal Journey concerns itself with the oldest mysteries of existence—the truths that govern life, death, destiny, and enlightenment itself. Select one Contemplation from the list below and gain its benefits. You retain the benefits of your selected Eteral Journey Contemplation until you spend a Downtime Event contemplating another.

When you make a saving throw against a spell that is on your spell list, you gain a +2 bonus to the saving throw.

As an Action in Phase 1, you can invoke this contemplation. One foe who is adjacent to you cannot willingly move away from you for 1 round.

While you are contemplating The Sundering, your Druid spells that cause damage deal extra damage equal to one-half your Druid Level. This feature does not affect Cantrips.

You can invoke this contemplation when you make a Saving Throw against an effect that causes damage, and a Successful Saving Throw would allow you to take half damage. If your saving throw is a success, you take no damage. If your saving throw was a failure, you only take half damage.

While you can see the open sky, you always know the cardinal directions, approximate time, and the direction toward any location you have previously visited. Additionally, allies that can see and hear you gain a +1 Magic Bonus to Saving Throws against effects that cause fear or charm.

When you, or an ally that can see and hear you fails a Saving Throw, you can invoke this contemplation to allow them to reroll the Save. This takes no actions to do, and they must accept the new result.

After finishing a Night’s Rest, roll 2d20, and record the result. You can replace any d20 test made by you or a creature that you can see with one of these rolls. Each roll can only be used once. You lose any unused rolls when you preform a Night’s Rest.

When you invoke this Contemplation, you cast the Augury spell without spending a spell slot, and the spell automatically succeeds.

If you spend 1 Master Action gazing at a target, you immediately know it’s true form. You learn if it being affected by magic or not, and understand it’s true nature, even if hidden. Additionally, your GM will inform you of all keywords the target has.

When you invoke this Contemplation, you cast the True Seeing spell upon yourself, without spending a spell slot. You can use this invocation even if the True Seeing spell isn’t on your Druid Spell list.

When you become Polymorphed by any means, you retain your ability to speak. Additionally, while polymorphed you do not temporarily lose your keywords, and only gain keywords from the polymorph.

When you invoke this Contemplation, you cast the Polymorph spell upon yourself, without spending a spell slot. When cast in this manner, you can choose to triple the duration of the polymorph.

Choose one spell of 5th level or lower from the Cleric spell list and one spell of 5th level or lower from the Magic-User spell list. Both spells are considered Druid spells for you.

When you invoke this Contemplation, choose and cast one 6th-level spell from any spell list. Afterward, you cannot recover any expended Contemplation Invocations until you complete a Downtime Event.
